I’m Rita Slatus, proud owner of Buckingham South.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Personalized, high-quality senior health care is what I have a passion for! I have been a healthcare administrator and involved in the healthcare of senior citizens for over forty years.

Buckingham South came into being nineteen years ago because Savannah was in need of high quality, personalized healthcare for our senior citizens. A group of doctors petitioned me to provide the Savannah community with a locally owned and operated facility of the highest caliber.

At Buckingham South, we aim at providing the best care to our senior citizens, and we use high-end technology in every area to ensure that we reach our objective. We have state-of-art medication monitoring, security cameras, and call bell systems, to provide the best care.

Being a part of our aging senior community gives me the greatest satisfaction and being able to spend as much as I want on making our seniors happy and well cared for is a great part of owning a business.

In this line of work, I think it is extremely crucial to go beyond the call of duty. You need to anticipate the needs of people you are caring for and provide them with highest quality care with a warm and loving touch. You need to address not only the medical and physical needs of senior citizens but also their social needs.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my passion and dedication for providing the highest quality care for senior citizens.

At Buckingham South, we treat one another as family. Both our employees as well as our residents are one big happy family that would do anything for one another. Our focus is all about caring for one another.

I attribute our success to the fact that we are truly the finest facility in Savannah with the most outstanding care for senior citizens. Caring, loving and of course, having the most highly trained professionals on staff are all part of our success.

Seeing the high quality of life that our residents are provided with has given me the greatest satisfaction over the years. Knowing that our nurses are caring for every aspect of their lives and hearing from families about how grateful they are for the wonderful lives that their loved ones have at Buckingham South is truly satisfying.

When I am not at work, I have a great time playing with my grandchildren. Art is also a hobby, and I love using watercolors for marsh scenes and acrylics for other nature scenes. I love nature and the outdoors. As a cancer survivor, I also counsel others that are going through this trauma in their lives.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
